My first mission...

After spending some time researching other peoples resolutions, I have finally decided what I will do this week. Although it was hard to choose, and the lists of 2010 resolutions were endless...I have make a decision!

This week I am going to start with a very basic resolution that is probably one of the most common out there. This week I will "strive to be healthier and workout more." I have noticed that many people have chosen this resolution, and I feel as though it is only right that I jump on bandwagon and try this one out first.

So...what does this mean? Well I am going to start by eating in every meal this week. I have an expensive, not to mention unhealthy, habit of eating out for lunch. This week I will pack my lunch (a tip I learned from others that are also trying to be healthy). I will also sign up for a gym membership this week. I have made a promise to myself to go to the gym at least four times this week. : )

Although my resolution for this week is very mainstream, I think it is a good starting place. To get me started and motivated I think I will watch "The Biggest Loser" (check it out http://www.nbc.com/the-biggest-loser/) tomorrow night.

Well back to work and then off to the gym later! Adios until we chat again!

What is "Taking on 2010" all about...

Hello everyone!

I am pleased to say that I am beginning my first blog. After all the hype from others about how great blogging is, I have decided that I should check out this new cultural phenomenon.

I have spent the last few weeks pondering over what my New Years resolution should be. Now I know that I am a little late, but I couldn’t quite think of the perfect resolution in time. That being said, I have decided to inspire myself to do something different in 2010 by following others goals for the New Year. I am going to look at other peoples New Years resolutions, and give myself the task of living by their resolution each week. I will blog about what resolution I am working on for the week, and my thoughts on it.

For example, some people are going to try to become healthier in 2010 with an all vegan diet. For one week, I will eat like a vegan. Other people are going to start volunteering more. For seven days straight I will find different ways to volunteer in my community. Other people are going to spend more time with their families. For that week, I will take a trip home one day and surprise my family with a wonderful visit.

Now you may be asking…why? Why determine how to make 2010 better than 2009 by following others? I figure that by listening to the ways that others think they can improve their lives in 2010, I will improve my own life. We will be able to encourage each other. I have no doubt that by 2011, I will have a list of New Years resolutions for myself.

I am going to start this week. Come back tomorrow to learn what task I am going to tackle this week to make 2010 a better year for me! : )
